Many people have written so many words about how to live your dream, find your passion and make that your Life’s work.
From what I’ve seen, the emphasis has too often been on the money you will make rather than on the life you will live.
It’s not that you can‘t combine both but my feeling is if it’s only the money you are after, the foundations may not be strong enough. And they will not be strong enough because there is a lot of blood, sweat and tears that go into the whole journey of living a life on your own terms.
What would you do without payment if people could not afford to pay you? Would you still continue with your passion? People want to break free of the dull and routine lives they lead but they generally only have in mind the idea of having sufficient money so they don’t have to work anymore- even Paradise becomes boring.
If we want to have a joyful life, we need to remember that where we put our attention, that becomes our reality of life. If we pay our attention to relationships, they become our treasure, if we pay our attention to money that becomes our treasure, if we pay our attention to awareness that becomes our treasure- because wherever you put your attention there is your treasure.
What we can recall from our childhood can be very helpful in understanding from what it was that we derived the greatest joy and excitement.
If we can separate that desire to be special from that which lit us up, we will have a definite clue. Unfortunately, that desire to be special, when we are already special and unique, has been exploited by society and the journey to “become” special has blinded us from our innate treasures, talent and possibilities.
The good news is that no matter how long we have lived in a mistaken identity, self-examination or self-observation will reveal our true and tranquil nature.
Once we start to uncover the layers of our false identity that we have had imposed on us from outside, that passion for life and discovery will re-emerge. It is then that we can move in the direction of being the Expert for whose services people will pay.
In this pilgrimage there are many practical factors you will need to understand, but these factors are on display and freely available for all, either in books, on the internet, at workshops, seminars or webinars.
The more powerful benefits from which you will learn and advance in the art of living will be as a result of meditation, personal growth seminars, introspection or time alone to reflect.
As we move towards a life we can truly value, we will need to put our “specialty,” out into the world. This will require being able to Master that which we want to share with the world and one vital ingredient here is Authority. This implies spreading simple yet powerful cues throughout your website in order to communicate your expertise and standing.
Get detailed, before-and-after testimonials from readers, customers and collect endorsements from clients, using any earned degrees or certifications in your title or bio. Highlight the sites where you have posted blogs, featured as a guest speaker and go on to share your credibility story (your struggle, search for answers, discovery and resulting success).
Once you have done that you can create an Expert website and this website’s primary job will be to position you as the “go-to authority” in your field. We do not need to go into the needs of the market, because this will be dictated essentially by the field of your endeavour and passion; once you have discovered that, then things become clear on how you can attract your audience and now, all that is left is to effectively spread the word.
In the meantime “Love what you Do,” and become the best at it.
Cheers
