Well it can if you go into it wholeheartedly.
The reason why people can be negative their whole lives is only because they have NOT been total about their negativity.
They occasionally let in the odd bouts of positivity, because they look stupid in their own eyes (what to say about other’s eyes), if they continue harping over and over about the same things again and again. So what happens is that even the most negative person will occasionally be positive and Lo and Behold everyone really, really warms to them. Surprise!!
Well, not really, because no-one can be negative all the time otherwise they will not only be outcast in society, they will be even hated by those they love; this is the dilemma.
I had an aunt who was constantly negative and saying nasty things and you may also know someone either close to you or elsewhere who is a real pain.
The main issue is that it’s not possible to be negative ALL the time as these people too have had a total moment, either in love, in action, watching the sunset or hearing the laughter of children playing in the park.
Negativity and positivity move constantly into their opposite and if we are observant enough, then a revelation is possible and a change of heart also.
If you are sick of your own negativity and faintly suspect that your intelligence is at risk then do something one night. Try to be negative for a whole 40 minutes in the privacy of your own room and start screaming and shouting and saying all sorts of negative things; but remember one thing, do NOT allow any positivity in for the whole forty minutes.
Imagine all the things that have gone wrong with your life, times when you thought life wasn’t worth living, times when someone close to you died, the times when someone left you for another and so on.
““Cry, weep, scream, shout, swear. But remember one thing: don’t allow any happiness. If you catch yourself, immediately give yourself a slap, bring yourself back to negativity–beat pillows, jump on them , fight with them.”
You will find it very difficult to be negative for all this time, but after 40 minutes suddenly jump out of this negativity and turn on the lights and start dancing and saying “yes” to life.
In the beginning it will be weird but soon you will get the hang of it. These things are best to be done in the privacy of your own home so do not be disturbed by anyone. Put some music on that you love and jump, sing or dance for 20 minutes.
It is difficult to be negative when you do this consciously because one of the basic laws is that whatsoever you do consciously, you cannot keep doing for long.
