Stress as a Positive

Stress as a Positive Force

Watching for some years the emergence of Women in Business and seeing how they too can be very successful applying different principles it became obvious that men and the World generally can benefit by embracing a more integrated approach to work rather than hanging on reluctantly to the old Workforce mentality.

For example relaxation is a feminine quality and it can be achieved through many means. It really helps to understand that certain qualities like patience, caring, compassion, although feminine in nature can be present in both genders. The same applies to fight, effort, focus, determination, concentration and other male qualities; women can have these too, especially women in business.

If there is some situation in the market and that is creating a stress, the moment you feel there is some tension or stress, you usually become anxious that this should not be so. The tendency is to say ‘ I must relax.’ Now, trying to relax will not help at all, because you cannot relax; in fact, trying to relax will create a new kind of stress. The stress is there and you are trying to relax and you cannot, so you are complicating the problem.

When stress is there, we need to use it as creative energy. First accept it; there is no need to fight with it and if we can accept it, it is perfectly beneficial and can produce a good result.

Stress is simply an indication that your body is getting ready to fight with it. Now if you try to force yourself to relax or you take painkillers, alcohol or tranquillisers, you are going against the body and the tension will remain even though you have used a band aid to fix it. That will not help.

The body is getting ready to fight a certain situation, a certain challenge that is there, so it is best to enjoy the challenge and then stress can be used positively. Trust me, I know as I used to practise Law.
