Lessons to be learned from failure

7 Lessons To Be Learned From Failure

How we all deal with failure has a lot to do with our physical, emotional and mental state.

Firstly, some people are motivated if failure happens to them and they manage to mobilise and use their anger and frustration about the situation to get them out of it. Other simply collapse or give up feeling defeated.

Secondly, we can look at the failure in a more detached way and note how the situation occurred in the first place, so that the same mistake doesn’t happen again.

Thirdly, Failure and Success go hand in hand as do Profit and Loss. There is an ebb and flow and as expenses should not be looked at in a negative way (unless they are too high), nor should failure be looked at negatively. Perhaps we are in the wrong job, relationship, or situation.

Fourthly, if we look at Failure as a foregone conclusion, then this idea of failure can take hold of our minds and we will never get out of the underlying feeling that failure is what we deserve and no better.

Fifthly, some drastic changes to our thought patterns need to happen.

Sixthly, what you need is an awareness of the thoughts that continually run through your mind and the emotions attached to those thoughts. Be light about it and watch your mind as if it was someone else’s mind and thoughts. You will need to be far more watchful of the thought process and less identified with those thoughts of failure.

Seventhly, as you proceed and begin to have successes you will know that what you once called failure was a huge learning curve. Failure is only so bad when you feel in your guts that things will never be different. This is the real pain, when you feel there is no hope.

If you remember these points, it’s more likely that failure will never ever get you in a strangle hold; you will use it as fuel for the momentum to keep going.

These words failure and success are only the way it seems that the world judges us, that is by comparison to someone else who is thought to have succeeded.

The more we are impressed by success, the more failure will impact on us. Take a more balanced view and things will change sooner than you think.
